Sunshine will always be there after shadow!

Sunshine will always be there after shadow.

March.... I am all excited for this month...reasons..last year this very month i wrote my first post. Yes! It's been year..I never thought i would continue ..i didn't knew where to start with..what to write & what to do..but still i wanted to do something....i thought it as passing phase..which would over soon, but now it seems like never ending relation(though i can't promise about that). I am more than happy as it is growing..the love i am getting in form of comments & likes makes me double happy.
I have not planned anything yet ...about how am i going to celebrate it... (Ideas, suggestion are most welcomed).. but surely i am going to make it special.

As you all know i am going crazy these days in d-i-y's....you can see here & here Yes, designing for myself or you can say custom made... any word but single meaning...i love fabrics. I love to play with them(in sense of design).
They makes me go weak on my knees... but i love all this...it makes me feel proud when somebody compliment & ask from where i got? I proudly says i have custom-made it & there instant reaction is, you should open up a boutique or a design house..& I am flattered!
Enjoy the pictures & do tell me know about the skirt. I was attracted to this fabric for its camouflage feel but the best part it stands out because of its color. Slight hi-low design on side.

Neon & Me!

Custom-made..... everybody loves this word.. isn't it??

Oh yes, even i love it...especially when i design, you can check here (love for custom-made)... & when it turns out be awesome(read here compliments flowing). I love prints, texture, color ...mixing them is what i enjoy. Sometimes my tailor just pat on his head when he see's me.... ;) .... with small fabrics, extra blouse pieces, embroidered borders, little tidbits, laces, sarees(never-ever worn or hardly worn), embroidered stuff back from my designing days. Thank to mom(she such a sweetheart) who actually have kept all the garbage(read here fabrics ;)) & when i need she just pack n courier it.....because i know..if i get all the stuff at once...all will be lying like that only(blame laziness here)...i might loose interest in all that stuff.

Anyways..The neon anarkali fabric was a saree which i just wore once for an hour. The blue intricate jaali work was done by karigar almost decade ago....i thought i will make blouse out of it... but it was all lying like that. Duppatta has crochet work done all the four side which was purchased from Kolkata .
Now,let me stop all the blah blah here.... enjoy the pictures..
Stay tuned for more customized stuff :)

Matching-matching!

Hello..  Merry Christmas everyone! I know i am little late to wish.. but wishes are wishes :)

Delhi has been blessed with sunny days in-between teeth chattering winters. It's the perfect time to explore the city n enjoy it. Which is actually i am doing these days..& will do more in coming days. :)

This winters i didn't want my dressing to be a jeans-sweater-jacket dressing just like all the years till date... because i felt "SAFE" in that.. Yes.. I wanted to come out from my comfort zone of jeans n experiment with the summer stuff..though with the twist ;). I have been experimenting a lot these days with looks, colors, style.

So, here i am... Mixing two colors- soft peach + Azure Blue ... Did you like the color-combo??? Btw.. this is what i wore on Christmas Day.!

Funny part or rather romactic part ...can't decide..... My hubby while clicking pictures says to me ..."Your tee small squares n bag color is matching-matching". I am loving the attention he's giving to me while clicking... I didn't knew he noticed such small things. These little gestures makes me happy.! :)

Happy Weekend !

Tunis, North Africa

Located in the northern part of Africa, Tunisia is much far less travelled than Asia & Europe. This would be my first landing on the African continent. All thanks to our CRUISE which gave us a half day halt here(we took a 5 day long cruise from Barcelona to Italy). The day started windy n it drizzled a little & finally finished on a sunny note. The cruise docked on La Goulette port n took us around less than an hour to visit the city.

P.s It charged us for taking photographs[so all the pictures you are going to see is paid ;)] & mind it... it's a photo-heavy post. :D

Carthage :- It's not a single site but consists of numbers of sites:  The harbor, the Roman forum and the residential quarter from Punic times, Museum with Punic statues, The theatre, the Remains of Amphitheatre, Antonio baths. These were the largest baths in North Africa and Third largest in the Roman world. It incorporated outdoor pools, sun terrace, series of steps leading down to the Mediterranean Sea with normal cold, warm & hot rooms.
It's good for them who like history of Romans & do miles of walk.

Sidi Bou Said/Medina of Tunis :- It's a fabulous town which is situated on the Northern part of Tunis on top of the steep hill, dominating Mediterranean sea. The magnificent & glorious blue color doors & windows along with white walls wrapped in multicolored flowers with awesome fragrance around. The street is bordered with souvenir shops, cafes, art & craft stalls. This is truly magical area to explore. Little lanes were you can walk & get lost. I loved this place..It had some kind of magic(the plausible touts were little disapointment).

I hope you were taken into the different world & you enjoyed reading it as much as i enjoyed writing it. I think half day was not enough to see the whole place...may be in future i may wish to go again but off-course for some good amount of time.

Blue & Burgundy!

I am getting caught up with the chilly days n more of chilly nights these days...perfectly wrapped up in warm booties with cup of hot coffee/chocolate with a book to read...aaah...sounds good life..isn't it??
But, chill on..have a toddler who's up on my head 24*7{need another vacation ;) }

Well......I have been day dreaming for a while of all the places i want to visit in the world.....After the wonderful vacation, i came back only to plan another one soon(i hope hubby reads it ;)

Blue & Burgundy was on my mind from long time.. when i saw this color combo on runaway it so inspired me....If you are inspired by anything & you want more inspiration than there's no-limit. Thanks to Instagram, Facebook, Google, Twitter, Pinterest.
Take the contrast of vibrant blue against rich burgundy. If you have these two color lying in your wardrobe .....here's a humble request take them out and pair them together..and if you are doing that ......share with me.. would love to know.

CAPE Inspired by Nikhil Thampi!

This D-I-Y project is inspired by Designer Nikhil Thampi..  When i saw it for the first time...it was like OH I WANT IT ...but yeah spending so much.. so..it was like let it be.. !

I had this net white self design fabric in my 'box'(read here, extra fabrics.. or fabrics i buy n then they are not used).. which was 2 n half meter.. i took that n gave it for dye..
P:S  Red was the last option- I wanted it to be :-
     1- Royal Blue
     2- Fuchsia Pink
     3- Military Green
     4-Yellow/Ochre
After all the confusion i settled for RED(my love for red will never end... U can see HERE n HERE). I got a cotton lining of same colour & gave to a local tailor to stitch it(not even a boutique).. After little hesitation if he could do or not i showed him the pic of what i was expecting with little changes here n there.... He took measurements n made sure that my fabric was in GOOD HANDS.
Fingers crossed for almost a week.

VOILA totally in love...It flattered my body.. The best critic (My Hubby), appreciated it... :)
So, i am actually on cloud 9.
Now.... It didn't costed me a bomb & i am overall happy with the finishing part also.  :)
Tell me what u think... Did i made right choice with the fabric.. Did my tailor did justice (i told u i was inspired & i am not copying his design ;)
Have a look at the pictures.. Is this cape totally worth??... Will you go n get it stitch for yourself??
I am just making sure that i have NO INTENTION TO HURT ANYBODY SENTIMENTS(especially the designer).

Now, the cape is little longer than the original one. Styling here with simple blue denims & turtle neck. I want all the focus on cape so opted for a snakeskin printed wedges n kept jewellery to minimal.

Howrah Bridge in Rome!

So you might be thinking.... what's the connection??
Howrah Bridge is in Kolkata, India while Rome is capital city of Italy.  How can Howrah Bridge be in Rome....Keep thinking... while i take you to virtual tour(photographs) of Rome... Yes..A day well spent in Rome!

1- Vatican city, St Peter's Church

 2- The Colossuem

                                                                        I love rain!

What a view....!

 3- Trevi fountain

The Quirky chasma-print scarf is from fellow fashion blogger- Anupriya who is Owner & Designer of Howrah Bridge(now you see the connection). I loved this print..n wanted something for myself.. So, after little thought if i should get a jacket, tunic.. i opted for scarf... fun accessory. After discussion with Anupriya..i opted for Royal blue color & the rest was left to her. I loved the little detail (cute parrots) she hanged in my scarf ... It's perfect to add color to a plain tee/blouse/cardigan/sweater(as you can see). You can check more quirky prints and outstanding details on her FACEBOOK page.
