Celebrity Red!

While everyone(including me) is busy in celebrating Diwali...here's a quick post ..

RED.. That's one color i can go never with it..yes i Love this color or better i would say we both like this color equally.... in saree, suits, western & even in his shirts ;). So, on my Hubby's Birthday i wore this Celebrity Color(this is what he says ;)) for dinner.

You always wanted to wear LRD(Little Red Dress)...but never got that particular color or fit..or you felt it's too glaring and calls lots of attention..A Red Dress is a bold fashion statement, it can create a look that seems both classic and seductive.!
Here's a quick guide for wearing this color :-
Think Monochrome :- Add belt to your dress...perfect way to add color..But don't mix it with yellow or green. A red dress with green pumps will only work in Christmas not the year around.
Stay Classic :- Planning red dress.... opt for a classic cut that does not reveal much... or a decent hemline you are not conscious about.. & yes that perfect material that suits your body type.
Glitz it up :- Wear just enough of diamonds/gold/silver to dress up your already dressed up color. But, keep jewellery minimal...either a piece o chandelier earrings or necklace or a bold bracelet to go with it.

Keep make-up simple.. Opt for a nude lipstick or gloss.. if you need color go for another shades of red. Don't hesitate to experiment... Red on Red works well if only played well with textures and shades to keep things interesting...

Now, this seems to be a long post.... anyways enjoy the festival.. do tell me did you liked what i am wearing?... Did i created right magic with my LRD? How will you dress up your Little Red Dress ??
Oh yes... Happy Diwali...Have a safe one !

Flying with your kid is NO Rocket Science!

I always thought how will i travel with a kid... I mean there were always few infant/toddlers whenever i flew. I love kids, yes, now more than ever.. But, then the least 2 hours would become like lifetime.

So, when Baby V's time came to flew with me which was first when he was 4 months old.. i took a day flight..asked the air hostess to adjust me in the first row(little more of leg space) n help me with the bassinet. Ahh.. all was fine. While returning back i took a late night flight...so that we can both(atleast he) enjoy our little naps.

All was fine..till we decided to go on a holiday little far.. 5 hours journey..that too sitting in a one place... that too for an infant who is 9 month old who want to reach for everything, who wants everything in is mouth.....we dreaded..Baby V is not a cranky kid but he's moody,he can snap if things don't go his way(no paternity test required here). Would we be the helpless parents trying to pacify our child or would we be the savvy, self assured, comfortable parents who know what to do? But we did, n we survived(from the big rolling eyes).

Here's few things to keep in mind-
1- Priority- Take fights which suits your baby, because you don't want a cranky/shouting/irritating baby next to you... do you?
2- Always carry your baby stroller.....your baby may refuse to sit in that but you can keep your hands free ;)
3- Use the baby queue/line when you are travelling international.. they work more quickly.
4- Try to give important meal before the flight time.. that way you can entertain with small meals or snacks in between.
5- Most parents fear this. And rightly so, as the change in cabin pressure can cause earache which can be pretty annoying and scary for the little one. The best way to avoid it is to ensure that the baby is feeding during these two events. If your baby is breast-fed, hold out feeding him while the plane is taxiing because he may finish just before take off and defeats the purpose. In this case.. rub ears.
6- Pack some favourite toy/books.... this works best. Also, pack some new toy to surprise and distract the bored baby.
7- Update your phone/ipad with new game or videos. It's a life saver.

I am NO expert but this my personal view/experience. I am sure you would have plenty more to add to it, may be even i will have some more suggestion in future. I will be more than happy to receive suggestions in the comment box below.
Yes, the important part is having fun... if they are having fun why should we stop our self.!
Do you travel with your kids a lot? How do you manage them.. ?
Till next time ...

Lost & Found !

There is a saying that a friend is there for a reason, a season, or a lifetime.

How some people I thought I would forever be closely connected to have drifted so far out of my life that I know almost nothing about them.  That people I thought would be interested in me & my child’s lives just aren’t at all and how others that I barely know seem deeply interested in the well being of me and my family. This is all what i have started thinking lately.... about how life changes and how deeply a relationship evolves or evaporates.

I have been thinking a lot lately about the wonderful new relationships I have formed.  I have met women I didn’t realize could honestly exist.  I have met strong women who will cheer for other women.  Women who will congratulate you when you accomplish something you are proud of and those same women will wholeheartedly listen when you feel like your world is about to unravel.  I have met women who joke and laugh about one another but aren’t mean and nasty. These women are not of same age.... some are old granny's.... the other are mom of young grown up kids... few of my age even... they are for reason.... you are just blessed to be with them..

I have realized that the amount of time you know person doesn’t equal the amount of loyalty and love you get from that person.  If someone cares about you then they are never too busy to reach out, weeks turn to months that turn to years and then you don’t even know where to pick up from there.I have decided that if you aren’t present it’s not ok.  If you don’t make the effort eventually I won’t either.... they are like seasons...

I think it’s as I am getting older that I am realizing what I do and don’t have time for.  I used to feel hurt and slighted when I felt old connections weren’t reaching out or making efforts but now I feel more relieved.  I feel able to move on to positive. I make new friends.... eventually i don't forget the old ones who are stuck with me...it's not easy to forget them...there are tears, followed by little sadness and sometimes just a deep feeling of loneliness..... but moving on is life.... one has to move on..either you have anybody on your sides or not.. life goes on.... still there would be one or two of them whom u don't see.. neither talk.. still u are connected.. when you meet/talk..it seems a house on fire..... that's relation for lifetime.... Anyone of you experienced the same thing??

Till next time..
