Happy Navratri !

It's a first day of Navratri. Clothes n accessories form an important part, however one thing that is most revered is the nine-day-fast. There are many who eat one meal at a day, some are only on fruits and liquids. So, while every body out there is talking about clothes, dandiya nights, puja ceremony.. I thought to talk about the Healthy Fast and yes indulge yourself lot more than just Satvik food.

1- People generally prefer eating dinner, try having lunch or an early dinner(sundowner)...that way you are giving your body enough time to digest the food.
2- The consumption of fluids must be increased. Options are fruit lassi, lassi, fruit smoothies. Have frozen yogurt instead of ice-cream, it provides instant glucose and keep body hydrated.
3- Consume lot of Vitamin-rich fresh fruits and Protein-rich milk products. Consume carbohydrate-rich sources, as they will support the exhaustive ratri raas of garba and dandiya.
4- Keep fried food away(i know it's impossible... because i love to eat sabudana vada). Try having baked tikki's/vada's with olive oil instead.
P.S  Some of the portion is taken from Delhi Times article.

This is what i wore to "Mata ka Jagrata" a day before(at my Hubby's aunt place). This jeorgette saree is self weaved in golden threads with beautiful paisley design.. It's light weight....perfect to carry without feeling loaded :) so, i wore a dull-gold sequins blouse with it. I kept the jewellery to minimal and completed the look with light make-up.

I love wearing saree, though occasionally, red is our(Me n Mr. hubby) favourite colour :)

Saree- Banglore(one of my trousseau shopping)
Blouse- Got it made from local tailor
Bangles- lac( kolkata)
So, what are you eating /wearing this Navratri.... n what are your plans???
Till next time...

The FabAlley Jewel Box

You know it's not easy to shop(forget about window shopping) when you have a small baby who runs around the mall n shop to shop....and bumps at somebody's feet/shopping bags.... so you choose to go without him(not possible, nuclear family) or you shop online....which is best option these days... lots of choices n good deals.

Some days back, i subscribed to faballey, received a mail from faballey ....about some 'Jewel Box'....I ordered myself the minute i saw it..the deal was drool worthy..

What is Jewel Box- A jewel box is exactly what it sounds like... a box containing three pieces of randomly pre-selected jewellery that suites your style......U got Confused??? You need to take a short quiz & then its randomly decided which box suits your fashion/style sensibilities...... results may surprise you. Did u find it cool??... I guess i find it cool... because when we order individual pieces, it amount roughly Rs 2000/- and opt for the box n its just for Rs 1000/-... Doesn't it sound great..it's quite a bargain.... The jewellery is trendy n high on quality.... After the quiz ...I opted for the classic box which contained two neckpiece and a earring... Loved both my neckpiece...earrings are ok...may  be because i am not high on earrings... but still i will wear it sometime....Personally, i would love to create/choose my own pieces, rather than leaving it to fate/brand to choose it....But, overall i liked my box. How about delivery?? The box was at my doorstep within 4-5 days..it was quick.. How about the packaging??? All pieces were wrapped in different bubble sheet secured with tape..n came in black cardboard box.....but Yes, nothing fancy..as the name says "Jewel Box"... They should give a second thought about the packaging....
However, it was nice experience and three new addition in my accessory section..May i opt for another box for the next month ;)
Wearing here denim on denim trend with new gold and gunmetal chain link necklace....

Did u tried the FabAlley Jewel Box? Do share your experience with me in the comments section.... would love to know...
Till next time..

IGJF

Diamonds are a girl's Best Friend !

Yes u got it right..i went to a place were i was surrounded by diamonds(jewellery).

Indian Gem and Jewellery Fair IGJF 2013 April 12th-15th.

On monday...which was last day for the ongoing jewellery exhibition at Pragati Maidan and i was proud that i went to see. I was little upset because kids were not  allowed, so after a long discussion with my hubby for babysitting him while i go and check the exhibition came to an  end when he finally agreed. I waited for around half an hour outside before he came to take the charge of entertainig my little tot.

Finally, i was inside the hall n one look n my eyes glazed. There were many stalls. Diamonds were on top list after kundan. Kolkata, Jaipur, Mumbai were the places the jeweller flew from to show their best pieces. All the leading brand were present from Hazoorilal to Geetanjali....P.P.Jewellers to Caratlane.
Design wise, i saw tradional mixing modern ....fusion will b in top list. old traditional deigns like boriya(round maang tika), hasli(necklace),gold bracelets wid boriya on top.
From small little diamond to large cents...all under one roof.

So next time wen i visit these kind of exhibiiton  i surely wud love to blackmail my hubby for something so that he can get a small little piece from there ;)

Hope u had enjoyed reading this..... yes i would love to hear from u... do write in..
till next time...
